Happy Tuesday everybody and I hope that your week is off to a great start so far! It finally rained in Los Angeles ( what we all needed ), and I was ready to put my rain boots into gear and get crafty. I feel like every once in a while when I want to break out the art side of me, it always gives me the sudden urge to want to go shopping at the local flea market or melrose trading post.

I hope that everyone had a fabulous weekend! I spent mine cruising along the Santa Monica Pier, working on what I had to work on for work, and buying some new, fun outfits from time to time. Although the weather has been off and on, I made use of what I bought over the weekend, and these new Nicole Lee boots that I purchased at a vintage clothing store.

Since spring break is coming up, we all know that now is the perfect time to get on a balanced diet, and to start eating the right foods to stay healthy and to stay fit. We know how we constantly introduce to you guys new and improved healthy recipes, but we were recently introduced to a new natural and food-derived health supplement called Okinawa Life.

DIY | Homemade Meringue Love Letters Recipe

Ingredients

3 large egg whites, at room temperature

3/4 cup sugar

Large pinch of coarse salt

Large pinch of cream of tartar

Directions:

Preheat oven to 200 degrees, with racks in upper and lower third of oven. Combine egg whites and sugar in a bowl set over a pot of simmering water; stir until sugar dissolves and mixture is warm, about 3 minutes. Add salt and cream of tartar.
Beat with a mixer on medium-high speed until stiff, glossy peaks form and meringue is mostly cooled, about 7 minutes.
Transfer meringue to a piping bag fitted with a ?-inch plain pastry tip (such as Ateco #805). Pipe the letters L, O, V, and E, 3 times each, onto a parchment-lined baking sheet; each letter should be about 4 inches tall and spaced 1 inch apart. Pipe 16 hearts, 1 inch tall and 1 inch apart, onto another parchment-lined baking sheet.
Bake meringues until crisp on the outside but still soft inside, about 1 hour for letters and 40 minutes for hearts. Transfer to a wire rack and let cool completely. Cookies can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature up to 1 day.

Prep Time: 20 minutes

Total Time: 2 hours

Yield: Twelve 4-inch letters and sixteen 1-inch hearts

DIY Valentines Day Mix and Match Votives

With Valentines Day only 6 more days away, we thought of a really in-expensive way to give that special person you love a sweet Valentines Day gift and if it’s anything a girl loves on Valentines Day, guys, it’s anything crafty and homemade from the heart.

Recently in a magazine, we came upon these mix and match votives where you can even use your recycled scrap paper to decorate the outside of these votives. Not only could these be used for Valentines Day too, but kid’s and families love them and these happen to be one of my favorite crafts on a rainy day!

I actually typically might spend my weekend making these!

Happy weekend everyone! Enjoy the two days that we all cherish the most.

WHAT YOU NEED:

O Assorted paper, Washi Tape, Ribbon
O Double-sided Tape
O Votives

DIRECTIONS:

Wrap paper around votive for sizing; cut to necessary length. Adhere strips of paper to votive with double-sided tape.
Be creative and have some fun. Wrap some with just paper and layer others with ribbon and tape.
