I hope that everybody is having a great start to their Tuesday so far.

With my vanilla coffee in my right hand, I can’t help but wish that today was already almost Friday, but we know that this won’t happen for another 3 days ( at least here in Los Angeles ).

She actually recently combined her love of music, fashion, and film to create one of her newest lines called “Festival“. Vanessa just launched the Pre-Fall 2013 collection just yesterday through her online website.

Her collection was inspired by the spirit of rock-’n'-roll and the power of music. Aside from being the go-to jewelry for festivals, it’s a line that is designed for the bohemian babe who is endlessly free-hearted and free-spirited.

ISanctuary Jewelry Collaboration + Designers For A Cause

I hope that everyone had the perfect ending to their weekend, although we know that to every ending it’s not always perfect, but I hope you all had a great weekend anyways!

Surprisingly, I spent my weekend (once again), cleaning my house, attending a best friends birthday bash at a local stop called “The Room” in Santa Monica, getting all of the needs fixed on my car, and trying to relax within the 63 hour work week that I had. ( If, most of you don’t know, I work at social media & marketing firm, during the day. Even though, we all know that I would LOVE to turn Chiffon Souffle into my full-time job! )

A week or so back, I told you guys in the latest post that I attended the “Designers For A Cause Event”, which was by the way featuring “The Hangovers” very own Heather Graham.

Well, since I already picked out my outfit for the “Designers For A Cause” event, I of coarse had to have the perfect jewelry to go with it.

I recently stumbled upon a jewelry brand called “ISanctuary”, which I am head-over-heels for considering what “ISanctuary” is a line where the jewelry is made from survivors of human and sex trafficking. When my pieces arrived in the mail, i’ve never felt more special in my life opening that box, and knowing that the jewelry I was about to wear around my neck was made from individuals like this, so inspiring to me.

Designers For A Cause Event With Heather Graham!

Did you guys have a great Memorial Day weekend? I hope so!

Even though, this past week has been very hectic for me, I managed to squeeze in post-weekend time to attend the “Designers For A Cause” Event featuring host Heather Graham.

Designers for a cause is dedicated to delivering high style consigned and donated designer clothing, handbags, shoes and accessories.

All of the proceeds go to support various international and domestic missions and social enterprises.

If it’s anything that I love supporting it’s certainly events like these!

DIY | Create Your Own Bedroom Headboard!

When I first lived in Los Angeles, this is one of my most fondest memories that I actually quite remember, because I had my first place of my own that I actually (never really decorated).

I remember having a few bar stools, some random pictures on the wall from a vintage flea market, and a few night-end tables here and there, but nothing was ever too fancy ( yes, I am ashamed of my myself by the least! )

If I could turn back-time to now, I would have things much differently and honestly would have been way more crafty, instead of throwing together “Target” and “Ikea” furniture, but I feel like that’s everyone’s first instinct, when they get their very first apartment, right?

Not too long, I found this really crafty idea on how to create your own headboard for your bed and I felt like sharing with you guys a few of my favorite DIY headboard creations as well, and how you can create your very own from home!

I would of totally done this back in 2008…

Below i’ve listed a few favorites, and of coarse instructions on how you can create your own!

As you can see, to create your own, all you really need is a piece of art, some paint and painting skills of coarse, a few canvas’s and maybe even throw in a neat chalk board that you can pick up from your local vintage flea market!

Happy Monday to everyone!

How was everybody’s weekend?

Aside from Los Angeles being hot to the extreme, it was a great quality weekend to get some beach time in, and pure relaxation after a hectic week!

I still though some-how managed to re-arrange my closet, and was able to get rid of all of my multi-colored hangers for basic colored hangers, and I spent some time re-arranging my furniture!

One of my favorite things about summer creeping up on us is the chance to break out those cropped tops!

I am certainly a m-a-j-o-r fan of cropped tops over a pair of daisy duke jeans, or to flip on over a bathing suit on vacation, or in my case, down at Malibu beach.

One of my all-time favorite cropped tops though for summer is from Wildlife Works!

Even though I couldn’t just pick one cropped time, I chose the zebra print-half tee & i’m literally still obsessing over it, even though I just got it the other day!

There is nothing in this world that makes me more nervous then going on that “first date” with somebody you’re just getting to know,talk about major anxiety, right?

I’ll never forget that on my very first date, I literally looked like a train ran me over because I pulled everything together so quickly… without having to think what the heck I was doing with myself. No joke!

If I could go back in time and change everything that I wore, my make-up and my hair style, I would change everything in an instant, and i’m sure everything with my date, would of worked out just as planned!

To this day there are only a few beauty products that I use before date night, and after date night.

Canadian Poutine Eh? | DIY Homemade Dish

No matter what state you live in, or country, there is always a certain delicate dish that you just have the sudden urge to taste.

When I first attended art school back in 2008-2009, one of my very first friends was from Toronto, Canada and of coarse I heard all the great things that Canada had to offer, but something that I could not stop hearing about was Poutine.

My friend at the time explained to me that it was basically served in the majority of all of the fast food restaurants in Canada, and that it was something so simple as of just basic american french fries, cheese curds, and gravy.

With the definition of having such a simple dish, I never understood why having something so simple, be the most popular “fasting” dish through-out Canada, until I had the american version of Poutine at a local L.A eatery called “LittleFork“, where the gravy is on the bottom to avoid the “soggy french fry” tactic.

Poutine was of coarse much better then I had ever hoped for, and now I fully understand why it is one of Canada’s most popular delicate dishes on every menu.

With that being said, I thought I would share with you guys on how to make your own Poutine dish, right from your own kitchen!

What You Will Need:

- 5 medium potatoes, cut into fries

- 2 cups cheese curds

- 1 (10.25 ounce) can beef gravy

- 1 quart vegetable oil for frying

Directions

Heat oil in a deep fryer or deep heavy skillet to 365 degrees F (185 degrees C). While the oil is heating, you can begin to warm your gravy.
Place the fries into the hot oil, and cook until light brown, about 5 minutes. Make the fries in batches if necessary to allow them room to move a little in the oil. Remove to a paper towel lined plate to drain.
Place the fries on a serving platter, and sprinkle the cheese over them. Ladle gravy over the fries and cheese, and serve immediately.

I hope that everyone is having a great start to their weekend so far. This weekend I plan on getting a lot of rest and relaxation in. I noticed that the last time I did an outfit post, it was one of the top most rated posts on Chiffon Souffle, so I thought to kick off the weekend, I would start a style post featuring a brand I most recently bragged about, Love Bullets.

I styled my Love Bullets necklace with a one-sleeved black cocktail-mini for the night. Along the side lines of wearing a cocktail mini, I paired basic, plain and black pumps which of coarse I purchased from my favorite store H & M.

If I had to pick an occasion to wear my Love Bullets necklace, it would be most certainly be on a date night!

Shall We Dance Gala Honoring Tyler Perry

I hope that everybody is having a great Sunday so far.

I can’t believe that it’s already 10:00 pm on the west coast, where does the time go on a lazy Sunday night? Aside from barely getting nothing accomplished today, which isn’t that what Sunday’s are for? I was super excited to hear that there was going to be a “Shall We Dance Gala”, honoring Tyler Perry!

If you have not heard of the “Shall We Dance Gala”, this should be it’s 7th annual gala, and it’s for “The Coalition For At-Risk Youth”,otherwise known as (CARRY), which is a nonprofit organization that works to change the lives of foster youth suffering from skin disorders.

The annual gala is going to be held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel on Saturday, May 11, 2013, if any of you guys are interested in attending and are based out of the Los Angeles area, tickets are available to purchase for $295, and can be found at www.foratriskyouth.org.

This event will honor four individuals who have personally touched the lives of at-risk youth including big named individuals such as Tyler Perry, Janie Bradford, Jerome R. Porath and Laura Hunter. The CARRY foundation helps an estimated 500 youth individuals in the Los Angeles area alone year after year through treatment. The CARRY foundation also has an establishment of a summer camp, prom celebration, and social etiquette classes to empower the children with confidence building tools.

Of course for entertainment too there will be many talented Motown artists performing, and the Lyla’s are scheduled to perform (Bruno Mars’ sisters with a new show premiering on WeTV).

I’d hope that some of you attend & support a good cause! It’s always nice to give back!
