I came across this, “Do Something Creative” quote in my Paper Source planner. It is listed on each weekly page and simply looking at the quote really inspires me to either learn something new, take on a new challenge, or start a fun project!
Then, as if someone was trying to tell me something, I read about this woman who kept a little journal of every single person she ever met. She mostly used it for networking and career purposes, but think about how many people must be in that tiny book! Then it got me thinking…
I could start that project myself! You never know when you will need that contact from the lecture you attended, or even the receptionist’s contact information at a big company. It got me to realize that every single person matters. No matter how unimportant you think someone may be, you just never know when you might need their help or guidance in the future.
My favorite pens (Le Pen) to use for journal writing, or any other kind of writing for that matter.
So this is my goal for you. (and me!) Try to buy a little journal, like the ones above, and just to start off with, write down the names of a few important people that you know. Maybe important isn’t even the right word. Influential people who have made an impact on your life. Once you get in the habit of writing down a few people here and there, make it a bigger habit! Carry this journal with you wherever you go so that if someone is introduced to you, there is always a journal on hand to write their name down.
I was really fascinated by this. Think about how many people you meet just over the course of one year. The more names that end up in the journal, the better! You never know where your life will take you, and this journal will be a good keepsake to open up whenever life calls for it.
