I do miss those balmy summer nights where I can sit outside with a drink and maybe dip my feet in the pool. There is something about summer nights that seem just perfect.

While I love summer, I am thrilled that fall is here! Since fall is my favorite season I thought I would share some of my favorite activities that are perfect for this time of year. I can’t wait to take out my riding boots, sweaters, scarves and hats and jump right into the hustle and bustle of fall.

Apple/Pumpkin Picking: I am lucky enough to live near an area that is known for great apple and pumpkin farms. I am actually planning to go to one of these farms within the next few weeks and I am so excited! Fall is known for harvesting and what better way to spend a weekend than to go to an apple farm and pick out delicious apples?! The best part is, you can save those apples to make apple pie.

Football: Yes, I may love football more than any other sport! Surprising, I know, but to me there is nothing better than sitting home on a Sunday with a cup of tea, (or your choice of beer) and rooting for your favorite team. Ladies, this is your chance to impress your guy friends and show them you know a thing or two about football also! Fall is the prime season for football, so head out to your favorite local bar and spend a cold Sunday afternoon warming up with a beer and great friends.

Cooking for Thanksgiving: This activity may still be two months away, but when I think of fall I think of Thanksgiving. I have always found cooking to be therapeutic, (weird, I know) but I love the smells of turkey, cranberries, pumpkin and sweet potatoes wafting through my house. It makes me feel COMFORTABLE. Even when it is not Thanksgiving, cooking pumpkin bread or apple pie is one of my favorite things to do on fall evenings.

Halloween: While this is not an activity, this is definitely a fall theme. I love decorating for Halloween which is definitely part of the fall season, and I love buying pumpkins, ghosts, witches, cute candles, and costumes! Plus, the haunted hay rides that some farms have during this time are definitely super fun, and scary. Yes, I am still scared of haunted houses and the like. Halloween crafts are great and I love the creative avenues you could go down!

Happy Fall!
