I had the most amazing experience just a few weeks ago. I was able to go behind the scenes, backstage, and up close and personal to the models at one of New York’s most popular Fashion Week fashion shows! The designer was Charlotte Ronson who I absolutely adore. Her style is edgy enough for high fashion but definitely has softer lines, patterns and colors. Hm, where should I even begin?!
First let me start off by saying that I was WORKING the event. That means almost no down time and definitely no sitting down. However, going backstage is definitely quite an experience. The models are running around getting hair and makeup done and changing into clothes. The media and the press are hounding models and the designer trying to get an interview or picture in. Then there’s all the PR people running around making sure everything is running smoothly! While it was very fun for one night, I think a career in the high fashion industry would be just a little overwhelming.
After all the backstage madness, I DID get to see Charlotte Ronson’s runway show in its entirety! So here’s a run down of what I saw and loved.
See what I mean about soft lines and colors?! This might have been my favorite piece of the night. The soft floral patter will be perfect for next spring and I think that the black line on the dress adds enough harshness to make the dress a little more trendy. The models bag is perfect too and adds contrast to the outfit. What I would do is pair the dress and bag with bright colored heels and you’re set!
Charlotte Ronson definitely showcased many pieces that were more neutral toned but I personally loved this piece because of the pattern and black lines. The pattern seems to be floral again and the black contrast really makes this outfit more than just two pieces of fabric put together. The bandeau style of the top is perfect for next summer and will be all over the stores next year.
Of course color blocking is super trendy right now as well. I love the cut outs of this dress and the color blocking adds great depth. The attention of this outfit is really drawn to the skirt and I love the blue color and the flowy lines.
Charlotte Ronson definitely wowed all of us who were at her show and her spring/summer 2013 collection is highly anticipated. I had so much fun and would love to go to another show!
