I know this can be a stressful time of year for a lot of people! Whether you are going back to school, starting a new job, moving to a new city, or just getting back into your normal routine, the day to day stresses can take their toll on you. I know that sometimes I just need a few hours to breathe, and relax and just zone out. Whether it is listening to music, or reading a book, or just watching a movie (which is actually last on my list) you always need time to yourself.

I have put together some of my favorite stress relieving tips and I hope that you find them just as helpful as I do. My schedule is packed, so whenever I have time to just sit and relax these are my favorite things to do…
1. Read a Book - I love and absolutely enjoy reading. I try to read for pleasure at least twice a week and I find it completely relaxing. If you get into a good book the book will take your mind off of everything and help you zone out. Cuddling in bed or laying on a couch will help you feel even more relaxed while reading.
2. Listening to Music - I also love listening to music when I am feeling stressed. I have my favorite songs for when I am stressed out. Some songs/artists include, John Mayer, Jason Mraz, Carrie Underwood, and Maroon 5. I plug in my iPod and I zone out everything around me. What’s an even better idea is to have a dance party all by yourself! That is seriously one of the best stress relievers.
3. Do your Hair/Makeup/Nails – Call me crazy, but any one of these things completely relaxes me. I am not sure if it is the concentration that takes my mind off of everything or whether I simply enjoy it. But if I make myself feel and look good then I automatically feel better about everything else. Plus, who doesn’t like to look nice?!
