With the hot summer months approaching, sometimes you need to shut the windows and turn on the air conditioner instead. However, if you still want that fresh air scent, the only option is an air freshener! These DIY air fresheners will save you money and look super cute too! Sometimes these air fresheners you buy in the stores look so superficial and fake but these look like cute accessories you wouldn’t mind leaving on the coffee table.
This is a super easy DIY craft and something that can be used to compliment all that spring cleaning you have been doing. It only requires a few supplies and once you make one, you are going to want to make one for every room in your house, or apartment! You can make air fresheners with different scents for different rooms.
Supplies:
O Glass Jar(s) – Any glass jar will do. Mason jars etc.
O Scented Oil – These can be bought from The Body Shop, or Bath and Body Works
O Baking Soda
O Fabric – Pick out a pretty pattern!
O Ribbon
Directions:
O Measure about 1/2 cup of baking soda, (about 1/4 of a cup for smaller jars.) and fill up the jar with the baking soda.
O For every 1/2 cup of baking soda, put 10-12 drops of the scented oil into the baking soda. Mix together and if you want add a fresh drop of the oil on top.
O Cut out a piece of fabric according to the size of the opening of the jar and adding a little more so you can tie the ribbon around it.
O Tie the ribbon around the jar, creating a pretty bow!
The baking soda in this craft absorbs the odor in the room and the oils will add a delicious, fresh scent! These fresheners will look great on a table, on a shelf, or even right on your kitchen counter. We all know pets, kids, or even just nasty weather can cause odors to build inside a house and these air fresheners will definitely get rid of any smells!
If you have any extra time, and are looking to freshen up your space, I would definitely recommend this craft! You can even decorate the outside of the jars to make them look even more pretty and unique. Try all different kinds of scents like rose, lavender, vanilla and put a different one in each room! These air fresheners are sure to eliminate any odor stuck in your house or apartment and will look pretty while doing it!
